Quotes from tonight's Crafting of the Snark:
"You gotta make a terrarium for your bacon."

More random crafty pictures

Here are some pictures of craft with a bit more explanation:

Sweater hunks, of course. Erin knit Luke's sweater last winter from The Incredible, Custom-fit Raglan Sweater Pattern. Check it out, it's amazing. Luke crocheted Tanner's sweater from the leftover yarn. Crocheted free-style like, over which Erin is still in constant amazement.

Erin spinning yarn from mohair goat fleece (Thanks Jane! Thanks Carol!). Seriously, for all of you fiber crafters out there, try washing, carding, dyeing, and spinning your own yarn. Then you'll realize why it's so @#$% expensive.

Recently, a curious individual asked the following insightful question about the Chinese New Year Parade: "Llamas in the Chinese parade? Do they have llamas in China, or is there a horse shortage?"

Well, they had bagpipers too...and those segway things...I just think that they wanted to segment what little actual Chinese cultural parade material they had with whatever else they could come up with. Or maybe China is actually teeming with llamas, Scots, and segways. At the beginning of the parade a lady sang "God Bless America" and "The Star Spangled Banner." I didn't know those were Chinese anthems as well! I dunno. Your guess is as good as mine.

Field Trips

The most recent field trip that the Crafty Snarks took was to the Chinese New Year Parade (Gong hei fat choi!) in Jacksonville:

So it begins...

The as-yet nameless, semi-weekly, all-inclusive Greater Southwestern Oregon (and occasionally New York) craft (and other random activities, including field trips) group has been meeting for almost a year now, so it's high time we started a blog.

(Sidenote: a big f#%$ you to all you people on blogspot who registered blogs with variations of "craft" in the name, and haven't posted since 2002. You're breaking my balls here people.)

Many thanks to Kelly for coming up with a clever and random and obscure enough name for the blog/group/modus operandi (see: Now we just need some pictures and other stuff to fill up the blogosphere and wow everyone with our creative genius. So, fellow snarks, jump to it! And stay tuned for updates on the date for the next Crafting of the Snark! Bwaaahhahahaaahaaa!
